Pillowcase Dress

So I've been in a sewing mood lately & have been seeing these darling pillowcase dresses all over in the blog world lately! It seemed really easy to make, so I decided to try one the other day. I didn't have any extra pillowcases that I could use, but I have plenty of leftover fabric from other projects. I decided to use this floral printed brown fabric because I love it & think it looks very fall-like. I just used one of my regular pillowcases as a guide to get me started. I didn't quite have enough of the floral fabric to make it as long as I wanted so I added the band of coordinating polka dot fabric at the bottom & I think it looks really cute. And I love the bright orange ribbon! I think Kaylee looks pretty darn cute in it too & we all know that she loves to wear dresses! This dress was really easy to make, I just need to work on the armholes a little bit. There were so many different tutorials online & everyone did their armholes slightly different, so I wasn't sure which way was best. But that's part of the fun of sewing too is that it's a learning process along the way & with each project you do you just get better & better. I can't wait to make another one of these! Maybe I'll try a smaller version for the baby?
And happy National Sewing Month, by the way!
