Grateful

Here's the last Grandparents Day card that I made. I love these colors together! I use this color combo frequently because it's just so happy & cheerful-Certainly Celery, Pumpkin Pie, So Saffron, Pretty in Pink, Regal Rose, Marina Mist. And I love this new stamp set called For Everything. Super cute! I also used the "{GRATEFUL}" & "so thankful for you and all that you do" stamps from the Falling Leaves stamp set. I thought they were fitting for a Grandparents Day card!

I also wanted to show you a picture of the craft that my girls did (with a little help) to send to all of the grandparents inside of their cards-don't laugh! I just traced their hands on sheets of foam & then cut them out. Then my oldest, Kaylee, used some foam stickers to decorate the handprints. Then we stuck some magnets on the back & wrote their names & ages on them. I know they look a little silly, but Kaylee had a blast making a little something for her grandparents. And I needed something that was thin enough to fit in envelopes to mail, so this project worked perfectly! Here's a sample:

One Person

Here's another Grandparents Day card that I made last week. This one is for Great Gramma Mugs! I love the butterflies & the greeting which says, "one person can make such a difference and that person is you!" This is from the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set. I wanted to get out of my box a little & play with a different color combo, you know, use some colors that I don't usually put together. I used River Rock, Always Artichoke, Soft Suede, Pink Pirouette & Rose Red. I'm still not sure how I feel about these colors together though! :)

Grandparents Day Owls

Did you know that Grandparents Day is coming up? Yep, it's Sunday, September 12 in fact. I figured that I better start making some Grandparents Day cards to get in the mail. I decided to use my new favorite punch, the owl punch, and some gray card stock to make a couple of grandparent owls for one card. I am lovin' these owls, I think they turned out pretty cute! Hopefully Gramma & Grampa will like the card too & won't be offended by the "gray!"

I don't know if you knew this or not, but today is Grandparents Day! Every year ever since my daughter was born we send all of the grandparents a handmade card. This year was especially fun because I let Kaylee color on the inside of the cards, so she really got to put her own signature on them! So to all you grandparents out there, have a great day!

For this first card I used the new Kiwi Kiss color-love it-and a sunflower. My favorite flowers are sunflowers & when I saw this flower stamp from the Friendly Flowers stamp set it just screamed "sunflower" to me!

For this next card I've seen so many people using similar layouts with a bunch of circles & I thought it would be fun to give it a try. And it was! I love how this card turned out! I also love Baja Breeze & Riding Hood Red together! Plus, paired with white it makes for a nice patriotic color combo. To get the white polka dots on the Riding Hood Red card stock I just stamped using VersaMark ink with the Polka Dot Background stamp & then heat embossed with the White Embossing Powder.
