A Colorful Alphabet Book

I made this book a few weeks ago & realized that I hadn't posted pictures of it yet. It's another little book for my daughter. This one is an alphabet book. I used my Cricut machine to cut all of the circles from designer paper. So easy! I just need to laminate it still so that it is kid-proof & then I'll tie it all together with some ribbon. I just didn't think ahead about having to cut out the circles myself once I laminate the pages! Oh well! I really love using the designer paper for projects though! It makes everything so easy & still colorful & cute.
Here are some photos of a few pages:

Sorry it's taken me so long to get this info posted! Here are the photos of what we'll be making at my May Stamp Class & the details are listed below: This is the cover of the mini album we will be making. The album is sized 6" x 6" & you can personalize it with any title you want-"daddy," "dad," "father," "son," "grandpa," "family," etc.

The photo mats are sized for 3-1/2" x 5" or smaller photos, or you can just crop down your
4" x 6" photos to fit.

More inside pages.

Any of the blank spots (like the white strip above) can be used for journaling or you could stamp a word or phrase there.

And some more inside pages.

In addition to the mini album, we will also be making this coordinating Father's Day card.

Class Details:

We're going to get ready for Father's Day with this class! We will be making this 6" x 6" mini album using the Spring Break Designer Paper. The album has 10 pages inside & is designed to hold 1 photo on each page (so you will need 10 photos to fill it). You will make the album during the class & then just add your photos & journaling later at home. We will also be making this coordinating Father's Day card so you have a complete gift ready to go! This is a perfect little gift for fathers, husbands, sons, grandfathers, or just to showcase some family photos. You can personalize the cover to suit your needs. Just a note: I provide Tacky Glue to use during the class, but please feel free to bring your own adhesive if there's something you like better!

DATE: Thursday, May 29

TIME: 10:00am

PLACE: Julie's House, Riverside

COST: $15

RSVP: By Friday, May 16

I'm trying something different this month & offering this class on a morning during the week. Children are always welcome, my 2-year-old will be there as well, so we have plenty of toys & movies for entertainment! I'm hoping that this helps with conflicts & traffic issues. If this doesn't work out, then I will switch back to evenings starting next month.

To RSVP or if you have any questions please contact me.

More Christmas Projects

So here are a couple of Christmas projects I've been working on in my "spare time." Below is a platter that I actually bought last year, but just got around to making this year! Isn't it funny how those things work out? I always have so many ideas, it's just finding the time to follow through with the ideas is my problem! Anyway, I got the platter at Mervyn's last year on clearance. Anything that's plain white is just screaming to be stamped on! I did this plate the same way as the ones we're making at my craft class tomorrow night. Platter (Mervyn's), Porcelaine 150 China Paint Pens (Michael's); All other supplies Stampin' Up!: Supersize Snowflake, Typeset Upper Alphabet, Perennial Favorites stamp sets.

I have been wanting to do some type of a scrapbook where I can record our family Christmas traditions. I had so much fun making the Halloween version of this manila folder album that I decided to use it for this project too. It is so quick and easy to make too! (the original idea came from Kristina Werner @ www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/ ) On the four tags I stamped: "food," "festivities," "decorations," and "fun." That's where I'm going to record our favorite Christmas recipes, our favorite decorations, what activities we do each year, etc. Then I'm going to display it out on our mantle and every year we can read through it or add to it! I'm also making one for Christmas traditions that I had growing up. It's going to be called "Memories of Christmas." I think it will be neat to read through it with my daughter when she gets older and reminisce about my childhood Christmas traditions.

This is the cover (I forgot that the ribbon would cover the tree when the album is tied shut-oops! That's why I need to stop crafting by 10 pm!)

A new way to use a manila folder:

So I finally did some crafting for Halloween today. I know, it's only a week away! This mini album, pocket book is made by cutting a manila file folder in half. It was super easy to do and a lot of fun! On the tags I'll write down some of our Halloween memories from this year and include some photos too. I can't take credit for the manila folder idea, though. I saw it on Kristina Werner's blog (www.kwernerdesign.com/blog/) . I love her blog! She is so creative! Anyway, she even puts the directions for cutting and scoring this on her website too: http://kwernerdesign.com/blog/2007/09/ There are pictures and the template on her posts for Sept 4 & 5. Check it out!

Kaylee at 16 Months

My daughter was so hilarous and adorable at 16 months that I just had to take my favorite photos and make a mini album with them. I also wanted a place to write down my memories from that special time too. I used one of Stampin' Up!'s 5" x 5" Art Journals. It comes with 20 sheets of card stock inside. I glued every 2 pages together, just along the top and the bottom edge of the paper, to create pockets. Then I cut paper sized to fit inside the pockets on which I could record my journaling. I also added the tabs so that I could easily pull out the journaling when I want to read it (as shown in the last photo). It was so easy to do and it is something my family will cherish forever!

All supplies Stampin' Up!: On Board 5" x 5" Art Journal; Short Order Alphabet, Short Order Numbers, Fancy Flexible Phrases stamp sets; Cutie Pie Designer Paper, Whisper White card stock, So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Rose Red card stock and ink pads, Basic Black Classic ink pad; Tag punch, Small Tag punch, 5-Petal Flower punch, Photo Corners punch, Round Tab punch, Spiral punch, Bashful Blue, Apricot Appeal 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Ice Rhinestone brads, Rich Regals brads, Basic Black Stampin' Write Journaler.

Nieces & Nephews

I have the cutest nieces & nephews! I have 10 right now - 7 nieces & 3 nephews (plus 1 more niece on the way!). I needed a way to display all of their school pictures, but I don't have the extra wall space. I used one of Stampin' Up!'s Bitty Books because it is the perfect size to hold those tiny school pictures. The album is just so small and adorable! It even comes with the sleeve (pictured behind it) to store the album in. I love it!

All supplies Stampin' Up!: On Board Bitty Book; Looks Like Spring, Everyday Flexible Phrases stamp sets; Spring Showers Designer Paper, Barely Banana, Whisper White card stock; Chocolate Chip, Barely Banana, Bashful Blue Classic Ink pads; Very Vanilla 1/4" grosgrain ribbon, Spring Bouquet Flower punch, Large Oval punch, Hodgepodge Hardware.
