Candy Bar Wrapper & a New Technique

Last night was my monthly demonstrator meeting at my upline's house. We always make the cutest stuff there!
This first one is a candy bar wrapper. So easy to make & look how cute it turns out! For this wrapper we used the Happy Heart Day stamp set (p. 65, set of 7, $20.95, 111089) and Cutie Pie Designer Paper (p. 169, $9.95 for 12 sheets double-sided 12" x 12" paper, 109154). We used our ink pads & Aqua Painters to watercolor the images (When your ink pad is closed, press down to apply ink to the inside cover. Open up the ink pad & use the Aqua Painter to draw out the ink from the lid & color in your images.).
For this next card we learned a new technique. I can't remember if it has a specific name or not-sorry! I'll just call it the tissue paper technique. For this card we used the Embrace Life stamp set (p. 84, set of 5, $23.95, 111011). It is a beautiful stamp set! I know it's hard to see the actual technique in this photo, but it's on the white paper with the flowers colored in. When finished, it has a silky, fabric effect. What you do first is to cut a piece of tissue paper. Yep, just good old tissue paper that you wrap presents with. Then you stamp your image using a Basic Black or black Staz-on ink pad. Then you watercolor your image, be careful not to press too hard or the tissue will rip. Next you crumple up your tissue paper. Then you need a piece of Whisper White paper, cut just slightly smaller than the tissue paper. Use your Anywhere Glue Stick (p. 186, $3.95 for 2, 104045) to completely cover the Whisper White paper. Then smooth out your tissue paper & apply it directly over the Whisper White paper. The crumpled texture is slight, but so neat! I can't wait to try this with some of my other stamp sets too!
