Flower Pot Chore Chart

So we decided that it was time to make a chore chart for our 4-year-old. Of course, I wanted something cute that I could make myself. And I wanted something that was reusable day after day. I came up with this flower pot idea. On each flower is a chore (we also included a couple of behaviors that we're trying to be better at) & then when she completes the chore she puts the flower in the pot. So her goal is that at the end of the day all of her flowers will be in the pot. I liked this idea because it's so easy to change out the chores if needed-for example, now it's summer so I can put the "do homework" flower away until school starts back up. Also, if she's not talking nicely or being a good listener then we just take that flower out of the pot. So far her reward is lots of positive praise. The novelty of the flower pot may wear off & lose effectiveness at some point, then we'll probably have to think of some sort of reward. But I really love how this project turned out & so far it's working great!

What a clever idea! I love that idea, too! Both my kids (girl age 8 and boy age 2) would love it! You are amazing!
