A Little Homemade Gift for the Holidays

I made a bunch of these (18 of them!) to give out during the holidays. They're great for friends or coworkers, and super easy & affordable to make. I included the recipe below too, if you're interested: All supplies Stampin' Up!: Merry & Bright, Many Merry Messages stamp sets; Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Real Red, Whisper White card stock; Always Artichoke, Real Red Classic Stampin' Pads, White Craft Pad; Real Red Stampin' Write Marker, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Stampin' Dimensionals, Jumbo Eyelets-Pewter, Real Red 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Corner Rounder.

Homemade Cocoa Mix
Makes: about 6 cups mix (enough for 18 servings)
Prep: 15 minutes

3 cups or 3 envelopes (3.2 ounces each) instant nonfat dry milk powder
2 ½ cups confectioners’ sugar
1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, sifted
1 cup powdered nondairy creamer
1 bag mini marshmallows
1 bag mini semisweet chocolate chips

1. Stir together the dry milk powder, confectioners’ sugar, cocoa powder and nondairy creamer in a large bowl. Divide among 18 bags (1/3 cup each). Top with 1 tablespoon mini chips and ¼ cup marshmallows.
2. Attach these instructions: Blend cocoa mix and ¾ cup boiling water together until chocolate chips begin to melt.

From: Family Circle, Dec.07

*The idea from the magazine is to put the bag of cocoa mix in a mug as a gift. While this is a very cute idea, I did not have time to go out and buy some mugs. So I just used Ziploc baggies and then created the toppers for each one with the instructions attached. I added a peppermint candy cane to mine to be used as a stir stick, so my instructions on the bag read:

Homemade Cocoa Mix
To warm you up on a cold winter’s night:
Use peppermint stick to blend cocoa mix
and ¾ cup boiling water together until
chocolate chips begin to melt.
Enjoy!

With love~
Julie
