LDS Baptism Book

I thought I would also share the baptism book that I made for my daughter's baptism.  I liked the idea of having a small memory book for her to fill out about her special day that she can treasure forever.  And I also wanted a place for guests at the baptism to sign in so she can remember who was there.  I had searched online to get some ideas for an LDS themed baptism book & I just didn't find very many examples at all.  So I decided to come up with my own.  I used my digital program again & created 8" x 8" scrapbook pages.  I had taken her to the temple to take some pictures of her in her white baptism dress so I used those photos throughout the book.  I included some pages that had a poem, song or scripture on it as well as some fill-in the blank pages where she could record how she felt on her baptism day.  I also left some pages blank so that we could add on some pictures from her actual baptism day later on.  After I made my digital scrapbook pages I waited.  I waited until Shutterfly had one of their free 8" x 8" hardcover photo book deals.  (Watch for them because I swear it seems they have this offer about once a month.)  Then I uploaded my scrapbook pages in jpeg format into Shuttefly & created a blank book.  It was so easy & I only had to pay for shipping!  The book turned out really nice too, I am really happy with it.  So I thought I would share it here in case anyone else had a hard time finding some ideas for a baptism book.

Here's the actual book:

The following are the digital pages that I made for the entire book:

The following pages go side by side in the book:

So here are a couple of pictures of the actual book with some of the pages where I added pictures of her baptism day later:

Shutterfly also gives you the option of adding a clear memorabilia pocket at the back of your book which I thought was a great idea:
I put one of her invitations (click here to see that) in the pocket along with some other pictures from her baptism day.  You could also put cards that were received in there too.

I am so glad that I made this book for Kaylee.  It was easy, inexpensive & now I have the template already set for when my other 2 daughters are baptized in the future.  All I will have to do is change the accent color to whatever color they want & personalize it just for them.

I hope this gives you some ideas if you are wanting to make your own baptism book!

Folder Games

A group of girls at church with young children decided to make folder games to swap. These games are a great way to keep your little ones quiet while at church or anytime! So we each are making 6 & then we'll swap & end up with 6 different games. I found some ideas online, but they either were too much work (coloring & cutting) or they just weren't very cute. So I got out my handy Stampin' Up! punches & made a shapes folder game. I really like how it came out! Now all I have to do on Monday is run down to my local teacher supply store & laminate everything!
Here's the cover: Then here's the inside. What you do is punch out the same shapes again & run those through the laminator as well. Then you put velcro on the back & on the shapes in the folder so the kids can match the shapes & they'll stick. My daughter calls these puzzles & just loves them!
So I really was getting into these folder games & decided to make some more just for Kaylee (& for her baby sister when she's older).

I love my punches & Big Shot! They really made this project quick & easy!

Zoo Book

I made this zoo book for my daughter. We have passes to the San Diego Zoo this year & she loves to go! I know she'll love looking at the pictures of the animals we see when we go. The designer paper is some leftover East Coast Prep paper. I just had my photos printed with the white border, too, so that it looks like they're matted, but I didn't have to cut paper to do it myself! :) All that's left to do is laminate the pages & tie them together with some Real Red Striped Grosgrain Ribbon!

A Colorful Alphabet Book

I made this book a few weeks ago & realized that I hadn't posted pictures of it yet. It's another little book for my daughter. This one is an alphabet book. I used my Cricut machine to cut all of the circles from designer paper. So easy! I just need to laminate it still so that it is kid-proof & then I'll tie it all together with some ribbon. I just didn't think ahead about having to cut out the circles myself once I laminate the pages! Oh well! I really love using the designer paper for projects though! It makes everything so easy & still colorful & cute.
Here are some photos of a few pages:

A Book of Colors

I mentioned before that I am S-L-O-W-L-Y making some little books for my daughter. This is the one I made for her to help her learn some basic colors. This book was so easy & fun to make. It is sized 5" x 5" & I just used a lot of circle punches on this which made it really quick. When I was done I just took the pages to my local teacher supply store & laminated them so they are protected & a little sturdier. Then I just punched holes on the side, used the Jumbo Eyelets to reinforce them & tied ribbon through the pages to hold it all together. Above is a pic of the cover & below are pics of a few of the pages from inside.
