Handmade Christmas 2011: Gift Tags

I'm all about keeping it simple, but still handmade this year for Christmas. Especially since I am now 8 & 1/2 months pregnant! These gift tags are so, so easy. Take your favorite card stock (mine is this lovely kraft color), stamp in Christmas-y colors & then use a fun punch to punch them out. Then you can just use a small piece of double-sided tape to stick them on presents or you can punch a tiny hole at the top & use some ribbon or baker's twine to tie them onto a gift bag (above). So easy!
I made a bunch of these the other night, some in red, some in green:
Then I made a bunch of these Santa gift tags for the gifts from Santa. All we'll have to do is write the girls' names on them & they'll know it's from Santa:
These honestly took me about 15 minutes to make. I usually like to make a bunch of different gift tags but, like I said, this year I'm keeping it simple!

Handmade Christmas: Gift Tags

I hope you all had a very merry Christmas! We sure did! And it was so nice to have this past week to relax & spend time with family. And Happy New Year too! Well, I had just a couple more projects for my Handmade Christmas 2010 that I thought I would share with you even though it is now 2011. I like to make my own gift tags every year for presents. I know they're pretty cheap to just buy at the store, but I have some cute stamps that work perfectly for gift tags & it doesn't take me that long to do them, so I do!
Here's a batch that I made this year:
I just punch a small hole & attach some silver cord to tie them onto presents, or if I can write the recipient's name on the front I just stick them to gifts with some tape. It adds a nice personal touch to our gifts. I also made some really cute ones with Santa on them, but for some reason I forgot to throw them into the pile for the picture! Oh well!

Stay Cool

So the ladies over at the blog eighteen25 are so crafty! They have the best ideas & they are so wonderful to share many of the things they do in printable versions for their readers. They did a couple of ice pop neighbor gifts last week that are super cute! Click here to see their versions & to download the tag to print yourself. Since my printer wasn't hooked up to my laptop (which has the internet), I came up with my own version, Stampin' Up! style, of course:
The Market Pantry ice pops at Target are &2.14 for 24-not bad. I made my own tag using my computer, Big Shot, card stock, stamps & some pretty ribbon. I made a bunch of these to give to the families we visit teach & home teach for church. It's the perfect treat for a family during the summer! Thanks for the idea eighteen25!

Quick & Easy Baby Gift

I saw this idea in Gifts from the Heart, a special issue from Paper Crafts Magazine. I thought it was such a cute little baby gift idea. Make a few of these to keep on hand & you'll always be ready when a new little one is born. I used one of my leftover Nugget Tins from Papertrey Ink. Then I just put a travel size baby lotion, baby wash & washcloth inside. I tied a piece of ribbon around the tin, attached the tag with a safety pin & done! So easy!

A New Project-Baby Blankets!

So I got out my little sewing machine last week, blew off the dust & made a couple of flannel baby blankets! They were so easy to make! Why haven't I tried this before? These 2 blankets were my trial run, but they turned out pretty well. I love the fabrics! JoAnn's has the best, softest flannel prints & they are pretty cheap if you use your 40% off coupon! So now I'll have a couple of cute little baby gifts on hand. I can't wait to make some more! And, of course, it's all about the packaging right? Courtesy of my Stampin' Up! supplies! And I love the saying, from the By Ones & By Twos stamp set, it's perfect for a baby blanket gift!
Here are close-ups of the gift tags:
