Glitter Flowers

I've been trying to break out all of my new stuff from the new catalog! For this card I paired the new Petal Pizzazz stamp set & the new Fine Supernova glitter. I just love these bright colors together! And I love that in the new catalog Stampin' Up! has included some single stamp sets. The happy birthday greeting is a single stamp that you can buy for $6.95! I think I may use this card for one of my fun little nieces!

Happy Grandparents Day!

I don't know if you knew this or not, but today is Grandparents Day! Every year ever since my daughter was born we send all of the grandparents a handmade card. This year was especially fun because I let Kaylee color on the inside of the cards, so she really got to put her own signature on them! So to all you grandparents out there, have a great day!
For this first card I used the new Kiwi Kiss color-love it-and a sunflower. My favorite flowers are sunflowers & when I saw this flower stamp from the Friendly Flowers stamp set it just screamed "sunflower" to me!
For this next card I've seen so many people using similar layouts with a bunch of circles & I thought it would be fun to give it a try. And it was! I love how this card turned out! I also love Baja Breeze & Riding Hood Red together! Plus, paired with white it makes for a nice patriotic color combo. To get the white polka dots on the Riding Hood Red card stock I just stamped using VersaMark ink with the Polka Dot Background stamp & then heat embossed with the White Embossing Powder.

Lemon Recipe Tin

I had a customer order a Recipe Tin & she wanted it in yellow & green (she's giving it as a gift & her friend's kitchen is in those colors). So this is what I came up with for her! I hope that she likes it & that her friend does too! I used Certainly Celery & So Saffron Prints Designer Series Papers. They look great together! I also used a stamp from the Tart & Tangy set from the Occasions Mini Collection 2008 to be a lemon. I put Glassy Glaze Enamel over the lemon stamp too, so it has a really shiny, juice look to it. Overall I think it came out super cute!

Here are the matching dividers.

Sorry the picture came out really dark so the colors look a little off!

And here's the matching Recipe Card Holder & a Recipe Card. I stamped the Recipe Cards alternately in yellow & green (For a lemon & a lime I guess!).

If you have certain colors in your kitchen & you want to purchase a Recipe Tin to match, please contact me & we'll figure out a combination that works for you too!

Together Forever

I just got a bunch of stuff from the new catalog & one of my new sets is Together Forever (p. 46, set of 6, $20.95, 110965). I love this set! We have a wedding on Saturday for a friend from high school who also now works with my husband so I was excited to get to use it already. I'm planning on getting our wedding scrapbook done this year too (it will be our 5 year anniversary in August!) & using this set for that too. The colors I chose are their wedding colors, so I hope they like it. The W is heat embossed in black to make it really stand out & add some dimension. I love the flowers in this set, I used the VersaMark with them to make the background so they show up a lot more in real life.
Congratulations to Shawn & Anneke! All supplies Stampin' Up!: Together Forever, Lovely Letters stamp sets; Sahara Sand, Basic Black, Bravo Burgundy, Whisper White card stock; Bravo Burgundy, Basic Black Classic Stampin' Pads, VersaMark pad; Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon, Black Stampin' Emboss Powder, Stampin' Dimensionals.

Anniversary Cards

My mother-in-law asked me to make an anniversary card that she could give to a couple celebrating their 5oth wedding anniversary. I can never make just one, so I made a few options for her to choose from. The first two both use heat embossing with silver embossing powder. Heat embossing is such a neat technique and really adds a nice 3-D effect to your cards. And it's so easy too! The last card is very simple, which is always great. It only uses paper, ink, and a corner rounder! All supplies Stampin' Up!: Baroque Motifs, Typeset Numbers stamp sets; Basic Gray, Going Gray, Whisper White card stock; Basic Gray, Going Gray Classic Stampin' Pads; Silver Embossing Powder, VersaMark pad, Stampin' Dimensionals, White Organdy Ribbon.
