Samples for January Stamp Class

Well, I finally had some time to get some stamping done yesterday! Yay! It's been a long time! I made the samples for my card class/club for January. I can't believe it's already time to be making Valentine's Day cards!
Card #1:
This card uses the new stamp set Love You Much & the new Candy Lane Designer Paper from the Love You Much Promotion. Card #2:
This card uses the same Love You Much stamp set. I also put some small felt flowers over the stamped flower to give it some color & dimension. I stamped the large heart with the White Craft Pad onto the designer paper. It's hard to see it in the photo, but it looks really neat in real life. The designer paper is the new Raspberry Tart Designer Paper from the new catalog!
Card #3:
For our third card I decided to make a thank you card. And I decided to switch up the colors from all of the pinks & reds! I used the tissue paper technique on this card with the new stamp set Sweet Stems. I love how it turned out! Instead of mounting the tissue paper on white card stock I glued it down onto Pale Plum card stock. Katie in my demonstrator group did this on one of her cards a while back & I thought it looked so cool! I also used the new Sweetest Stem Embosslit with my Big Shot for the Perfect Plum flower. It is so awesome! The embosslit cuts out the flower & embosses it at the same time! So easy!

Here's a close-up of the tissue paper technique & the embosslit flower:

Remember, if you're planning on coming to my January Card Class please RSVP by Monday, January 5th.
The class will be on Thursday, January 8th @ 7pm at my house. I hope to see you all there!

New Home Congratulations

Our good friends the Gilbert's just moved in to their new house! Congratulations guys! This is the card I made for them. Watercoloring is not my strong point, so this is about as good as it gets for me! My method for watercoloring on this card was to ink up the inside lid of my stamp pads & then used my Blender Pens to apply the color to the paper.
All supplies Stampin' Up!: Neighborhood Wheel, Hugs & Wishes stamp sets; Kraft, Bashful Blue, Bravo Burgundy, Mellow Moss, Whisper White card stock; Basic Black, Bashful Blue, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Close to Cocoa Classic Stampin' Pads; Blender Pens, Corner Rounder, Light Blue Gingham Ribbon.

Candy Bar Wrapper & a New Technique

Last night was my monthly demonstrator meeting at my upline's house. We always make the cutest stuff there!
This first one is a candy bar wrapper. So easy to make & look how cute it turns out! For this wrapper we used the Happy Heart Day stamp set (p. 65, set of 7, $20.95, 111089) and Cutie Pie Designer Paper (p. 169, $9.95 for 12 sheets double-sided 12" x 12" paper, 109154). We used our ink pads & Aqua Painters to watercolor the images (When your ink pad is closed, press down to apply ink to the inside cover. Open up the ink pad & use the Aqua Painter to draw out the ink from the lid & color in your images.).
For this next card we learned a new technique. I can't remember if it has a specific name or not-sorry! I'll just call it the tissue paper technique. For this card we used the Embrace Life stamp set (p. 84, set of 5, $23.95, 111011). It is a beautiful stamp set! I know it's hard to see the actual technique in this photo, but it's on the white paper with the flowers colored in. When finished, it has a silky, fabric effect. What you do first is to cut a piece of tissue paper. Yep, just good old tissue paper that you wrap presents with. Then you stamp your image using a Basic Black or black Staz-on ink pad. Then you watercolor your image, be careful not to press too hard or the tissue will rip. Next you crumple up your tissue paper. Then you need a piece of Whisper White paper, cut just slightly smaller than the tissue paper. Use your Anywhere Glue Stick (p. 186, $3.95 for 2, 104045) to completely cover the Whisper White paper. Then smooth out your tissue paper & apply it directly over the Whisper White paper. The crumpled texture is slight, but so neat! I can't wait to try this with some of my other stamp sets too!

It's a Boy!

My friend Anya had her baby early on Saturday morning! A little boy named Logan Cade! I saw him last night and he is such a cutie! Congratulations guys! Here is the card I made for her. I actually saw the idea on another website. I love these colors together!

So of course after making the baby boy card and having all the stuff out, I thought I might as well make a baby girl card too! All I did was substitute pink for blue. Very easy!

All supplies Stampin' Up!: Bundled in Love, Word on Word, Polka Dot Background stamp sets; Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink , Whisper White card stock; Basic Brown, Close to Cocoa, Bashful Blue, Pretty in Pink Classic Stampin' Pads; Blender Pens, Blue Gingham Ribbon, Pink Gingham Ribbon, 1/16" Handheld Circle Punch, Vintage Brads, staples.

Autumn Fest

Here is one of the projects that we made on Wed night at my upline's house. We used the Watercolor Wonder Crayons (p. 186, $19.95 for a set of 12). These crayons are amazing! They're pricier than the watercolor pencils, but they are so much more versatile! For this card we colored with the crayons directly on the stamp (this method works best with solid stamps) and then sprayed the stamp with a mist of water and then stamped. It's a great way to use multiple colors and blend them together. The Watercolor Wonder Crayons also work well for coloring the inside of images because they blend really well (use a Blender Pen, Aqua Painter or a Watercolor Paintbrush all on p. 185, $5.95-$16.95). They also come in all of the exclusive Stampin' Up! colors so they match perfectly with your projects!
All supplies Stampin' Up!: Autumn Fest, Flowers & Flourish, Flannel Plaid Background stamp sets; More Mustard, Elegant Eggplant, Naturals Ivory card stock; More Mustard, Chocolate Chip Classic Stampin' pads; Watercolor Wonder Crayons-Earth Elements, 5/8" Bravo Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals.
