Thinking of You Cards

I also made a couple of thinking of you cards for the Mother's Day gift box. These are also good to have on hand.
I love the bird & branch punch on this one:
For this one I stamped the floral image twice-in dark brown & then in a lighter brown. It looks a little fuzzy here though, almost gives me a headache!
I love these colors together though:
Again, these cards were pretty easy & didn't take a lot of time, but are great for when you need to make a lot of the same design.

Fifth Avenue Floral Swaps

My monthly demonstrator meeting is on Wed, but I won't be able to go this month because we're going to be in AZ visiting family. I still made swaps though that my downline is going to take for me. Our swap stamp set this month is Fifth Avenue Floral. I love this set! My inspiration for this swap came from a tote bag that I have. My tote bag is the same Natural Ivory color & then has a bunch of black flowers all over it. I was trying to achieve the same look on this card. I love the Naturals Ivory card stock, it really adds texture to the card & almost makes it seem like linen. This is such a quick & simple card, but I really like how it turned out! Anyway, I won't have anything new to post until we get back so enjoy this one for now! All supplies Stampin' Up!:
STAMP SETS: Fifth Avenue Floral
PAPER: Naturals Ivory, Basic Black
INK: Basic Black
ACCESSORIES: Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon, Stampin' Dimensionals

I love this new Thoughts & Prayers set from the new catalog! It is so simple & the messages are so thoughtful. I've been using a lot of Mellow Moss & Always Artichoke together lately too. With this card I added a touch of Blush Blossom & I think it looks really nice!

Make & Takes

Here are the make & takes we made at our meeting last night. All of the stamping on both cards was heat embossed so they look really neat in person! The card below also uses a stamp set, designer paper & ribbon from the Sale-A-Bration promotion-super cute!

March Card Club Samples

Here are the samples for our March Card Club!

I hope you like them! This month we will be learning heat embossing

& dry embossing (using the Big Shot).

Card Club is:

Thursday, March 12th

@ 7pm

Julie's House

The cost is $5 & you will get to make & take the 3 cards below: On this card we are heat embossing the apple to make a "scratch-n-sniff" embellishment. You mix clear embossing powder with powdered juice mix & it melts together when heated. Then you can scratch the apple & it will smell like fruit! Yummy!

This is a close-up of the apple. You can see the texture that the powdered juice mix adds to the apple & it smells delicious!

On this card we are heat embossing the tree. It looks so pretty in person! The vanilla cardstock on the background also has some swirl images dry embossed onto it, but you can't see it in the photo. That was done by using the Big Shot & a Texturz plate.

The white card stock on the background of this card is also dry embossed with the Big Shot & a Texturz plate. There are tiny raised dots, but you can't see it in the photo. In person it looks really pretty!

Home from AZ & Another Papertrey Ink Card

Hello again! We're back from our visit with my parents in Arizona. We had a great time! It was a much needed break to recharge! My Aunt Kathy had major surgery yesterday (everything went well & she's expected to have a smooth recovery) so I wanted to make a special card to send to her (she lives in Chicago) just to let her know that we love her & are thinking about her. I immediately reached for my Women of Life stamp set from Papertrey Ink again. I absolutely LOVE this set! It has the "Aunt" stamp in it already & then I just added the "to my" from Stampin' Up!'s Fundamental Phrases stamp set to complete my sentiment. Notice that I used the Scallop Edge Punch again (I don't know why it looks a little crooked in the photo, it's not in real life!) on this card. I {heart} the Scallop Edge Punch!!!
Note: You can order your own Scallop Edge Punch when the new catalog comes out on August 11th, plus a lot of other wonderful new stamps & accessories! If you are interested in buying a catalog or placing an please email me anytime!
