Christmas Card Camp Info

I finally finished the samples of cards for my Christmas Card Camp for this year! Yay! The 4 different designs are numbered & shown above & close-up photos are shown below. Wouldn't you like to make handmade Christmas cards this year? Handmade cards are always the ones that everyone remembers the most when they receive them in the mail. And you can get them done nice & early before the craziness of the holidays sets in!

Here's how this works:

I will be having the Christmas Card Camp at my house (Huntington Beach, CA) on Saturday, November 6th. It is open house style so you can come any time between 10 a.m.- 12 noon. Everything will be cut & prepared for you, you will just stamp & then assemble your cards while you are here. You don't have to bring a thing, everything will be provided for you that day. Don't worry if you've never made cards before & are a little intimidated, it really is pretty easy & so much fun & I will be here with you every step of the way! Oh & to help us get in the holiday spirit I will have some Christmas tunes playing, some hot apple cider for drinking & some holiday goodies to munch on while you stamp! We always have such a good time at this event & I hope to see you there! If you want to join us then I will need you to pay by Monday, October 25th. Why so early? I have to order supplies from Stampin' Up! & wait for the items to ship & then I need to cut & prepare everything in time for our card making day.

Also, these are YOUR Christmas cards so I want you to be able to make exactly what YOU want. There are 4 different designs (they are conveniently numbered on the photos for reference). At the Christmas Card Camp you will be making 5 cards of each of the 4 designs (that's 20 cards total). You will also receive 20 envelopes. The cost for the Christmas Card Camp is $25. But you don't have to make 5 of each design, if you want to make all of one design or 10 of one design & 10 of another design (or some other combination), that's okay too, just let me know how many you want to make of each design (totaling 20 cards). And if you need to make more than 20 cards just let me know & you can make as many extra cards as you want (by adding on in 5-card increments for $5). I hope this isn't confusing, but if you have any questions please let me know (or stampinjules{at}gmail{dot}com).

Here are the close-ups of each card:

I will also have many stamps out that have Christmas or holiday messages on them so you can stamp the inside of your cards with a greeting too if you want to.

Ok, here are the details again:

DATE: Saturday, November 6th
TIME: 10 a.m. to 12 noon (open house so come any time between then & stay until you're done)
PLACE: My house (Huntington Beach, CA)

March Card Club Samples

Here are the samples for our March Card Club!

I hope you like them! This month we will be learning heat embossing

& dry embossing (using the Big Shot).

Card Club is:

Thursday, March 12th

@ 7pm

Julie's House

The cost is $5 & you will get to make & take the 3 cards below: On this card we are heat embossing the apple to make a "scratch-n-sniff" embellishment. You mix clear embossing powder with powdered juice mix & it melts together when heated. Then you can scratch the apple & it will smell like fruit! Yummy!

This is a close-up of the apple. You can see the texture that the powdered juice mix adds to the apple & it smells delicious!

On this card we are heat embossing the tree. It looks so pretty in person! The vanilla cardstock on the background also has some swirl images dry embossed onto it, but you can't see it in the photo. That was done by using the Big Shot & a Texturz plate.

The white card stock on the background of this card is also dry embossed with the Big Shot & a Texturz plate. There are tiny raised dots, but you can't see it in the photo. In person it looks really pretty!

The cost is $25 (envelopes included).

Here are the samples:

*Please note that you will be able to stamp the cards with whatever greetings you want, these are just samples!

Just a Reminder...

If you're planning on coming to the Christmas Card Camp at my house on Saturday, November 15th, please RSVP & prepay me by this Sunday, November 9th! Thanks!

Edited 11/13/08: To answer the question left on this post about putting vinyl on glass & cleaning it off-I just use it this way for decorative purposes. So any vinyl that I put onto glass or plates won't be used for food or anything, just to look pretty! But it is still very easy to wipe the vinyl off with a damp paper towel to clean off any dust. Thanks for asking!

Super Saturday Samples

You'll notice that most of my recent posts have been for classes or events that I have coming up. I have definitely been busy getting prepared for these & the upcoming holidays! But I like to be busy-it keeps me out of trouble! :) So I'm participating in a Super Saturday event through our church on November 8th out in San Jacinto. I am having 2 different stations with 2 different sets of projects. Each station costs $5.
Here is the first project. It's a 2009 Desktop Calendar, perfect for keeping right on your desk or by your computer. Each month has its own separate page that can be placed in the standing frame (clear plastic frame from Wal-mart). Each page is stamped differently & uses a different sheet of designer paper. On the bottom right of the frame I stick some felt flowers on so that they will be seen each month even thought the calendar pages will be rotated. The ribbon is used to hold the other calendar pages behind the frame, plus it helps to make it extra cute for gift giving!
Here is the second project. They will be making 3 holiday cards. The first card you saw last year, but it's a classic & everyone always likes it. The other 2 are new for this year.

I hope that the ladies will enjoy these projects!

September Stamp Class Project

I am so excited for my September Stamp Class Project!
I have to be honest, I did not come up with this idea myself. I found it on Andrea Walford's blog Sunny Stampin' that she got from a Stampin' Up! Regional Conference. It may look familiar too! I made one for my friend Anya for her birthday a couple months ago (to see that one click here). This is such a great project to keep for yourself or to give as a gift-the holidays are just around the corner! So first let me show you the pictures of what we will be making...

This is the outside of the box:
These are the cards we will make (you can stamp them with any greeting you want, or leave them blank & stamp them as needed):

Here's a picture of the box open with the 6 cards plus envelopes inside:

The details:

We will be making 1 decorated box & 6 coordinating cards (envelopes included).

You will receive half of a Simply Scrappin' Kit-Petal Party (a $10 value). This includes 3 sheets of 12" x 12" double-sided designer paper, 4 sheets of 12" x 12" textured card stock & 3 sheets of self-adhesive die cuts (see photo below).

Everything will be pre-cut for you & ready to go for the class. Even after making the card box & the cards, you will still go home with quite a bit of materials from the Simply Scrappin' Kit. Stay tuned over the next few days because I'll be posting lots of other projects I've made with the remainder of my kit!

Class Info:

DATE: Friday, September 26th

TIME: 6:00pm

PLACE: Julie's House

COST: $15

(You must prepay for this class by Monday, September 15th so that I have time to order the Simply Scrappin' Kits!)

August Stamp Class Cards

Sorry it took me a while to get these finished & posted, but here they are! These are the 3 cards we will be making at my August Stamp Class. Click here for more info about the class.
Card #1:
On this card we will be using the Faux Metal Technique (I do it a little differently than the tutorial here on Splitcoast, but it's still a great tutorial). I love this technique! It's so easy & you can really customize faux metal embellishments just by using a little embossing powder! This card also uses the Silver Encore! Ink Pad-on the flowers along the Kiwi Kiss strip & I know it's hard to see, but "EVERYTHING" is stamped in it on the Baja Breeze card above "you mean everything to me." And this card uses two of the new In Colors-Kiwi Kiss & Baja Breeze-that I'm loving together with Basic Black!
Here's a close-up of the faux metal embellishment:

All supplies Stampin' Up!:

STAMP SET: Always

PAPER: Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Basic Black

INK: Kiwi Kiss, Basic Black, Encore! Silver, VersaMark

ACCESSORIES: Scallop Edge Punch, Scallop Circle Punch, 1-3/8" Circle Punch, 1-1/4" Circle Punch, Brads-Vintage, Silver Embossing Powder, Heat Tool, Stampin' Dimensionals

Card #2:

On this card we're going to use the Baby Wipe Technique. This is another fun & super easy technique! This card also uses two new In Colors-Riding Hood Red & Pink Pirouette. I guess I was in a mood to use black (which I hardly ever use!) because this card uses Basic Black also.

All supplies Stampin' Up!:
STAMP SET: A Beautiful Thing
PAPER: Riding Hood Red, Basic Black, Whisper White
INK: Basic Black
ACCESSORIES: Riding Hood Red, Pink Pirouette, Pixie Pink Ink Refills, Baby Wipes, Paper Plate, Basic Black 1/4" Grosgrain Ribbon

Card #3:

This card uses a BRAND NEW stamp set-Heard from the Heart-& some BRAND NEW designer paper-Bella Rose. It also uses some of our On Board Chipboard which I just love! Chipboard is so versatile-you can cover it with designer paper, ink, paint, etc. or just leave it bare naked!

All supplies Stampin' Up!:
STAMP SET: Heard from the Heart
PAPER: Bella Rose Designer Paper, Kraft, Pink Pirouette
INK: Riding Hood Red
ACCESSORIES: On Board Chipboard, Whisper White Taffeta Ribbon

*Don't forget to RSVP to me by August 25 if you are coming!
P.S. We're heading out of town again today & won't be back until Sunday, so it will be quiet around here for a while. Have a super weekend!
